Warm and inviting on a cold Melbourne day Is it Cafe is situated just behind Chapel Street overlooking the Coles Carpark. But don't worry about that because as soon as you enter the old converted terrace building you forget about that and envelope yourself in the cosiness of the cafe.
Our very attentive waiter takes us through the menu and the specials. And there it is, what I want to eat. However being pregnant I can't, so Nick the sneaky bugger orders it instead.
A beautiful baked eggs dish, with house smoked salmon, feta, capers, and cheery tomatoes. It melts together to make a beautiful gooey creamy sauce that is like heaven in a cute cast iron pan. Served with a delicious bread. I manage to steal a few mouthfuls of Nick's and seriously this thing is delicious.
I go for something boring that I can eat, just scrambled eggs and bacon with their morrocan beans. I can't remember what the name of the bacon was but it was seriously the best bacon I have ever eaten!! Then again when you are ordering bacon that has it's very own name, you know the produce must be good.
The one and only small negative is the chai latte that I ordered after my delicious normal latte was a little cold.
But other than that Is It Cafe is so good, it's almost worth moving back to Melbourne for. Nom nom nom. Go and check it out if you are ever in Melbourne and have some time.
